Pornstar Martini Recipe
Pornstar Martini showed up for the first time in London twenty-one years ago (2002) at the Lab Bar. It happened while the creator was preparing a cocktail menu for the new bar called The Townhouse Bar.
The inventor Douglas Ankrah worked there as a barmen, mentor, and bar consultant. He had to make a name for himself. Indeed, he gets inspired while traveling to Cape Town where tried a similar drink.
Unfortunately, Pornstar Martini’s legendary inventor Douglas Ankrah died two years ago.
In 2022, Pornstar Martini was a favorite drink of cocktail lovers in the UK. While in 2020, this passion fruit concoction had over 18.4 million global searches on google. Leaving behind classics like Aperol Spritz, Negroni, and Espresso Martini.
Why is It Called a Pornstar Martini?
Ce n’est pas très intéressant (It is not that interesting). A party starter cocktail initially took the name Maverick Martini (after the club in Cape Town). But the inventor changed it later for no particular reason. We can say that Pornstar Martini sounds way better! Douglas thought the drink could be a thing that any pornstar wants to order (good reason).
Nowadays, UK’s most popular cocktail still has a bright future. Bold, playful, and sexy is how Douglas describes this concoction. What’s in a Pornstar Martini?
Bright in color and provocative in look, this drink seeks your attention at first sight. In fact, the ingredients of the cocktail are vodka, vanilla, and passion fruit. Combined together and served with a shot of champagne on the side for a sweet beginning.
How to Drink Pornstar Martini?
Many drinkers immediately start pouring Champagne shot over the served cocktail. Well, we don’t recommend it, better take a shot first and go for your bold and sexy drink.
If it shows up like this, must be a reason for it. If you pour a shot straight into your cocktail, there is a possibility to unbalance the flavors. So better start your evening with a shot of Champagne first! Don’t pour it in!
